Visiting Yasawa serves as a true escape from the outside world. This philosophy is unapologetically echoed throughout our resort with simple measures such as keeping our traditional-inspired luxury bures TV and wifi-free. Additionally, there is no phone reception.

During your time with us, you’re encouraged to leave the life you live behind and step into slower-paced days, where mornings are spent at the spa and afternoons are for dips in the turquoise waters of the South Pacific. Consider your stay a chance to fully immerse yourself in our lands of rich natural beauty, lively local culture, and a revitalising sense of relaxation. Wifi is available in all common areas of the resort.

Our standard daily charter is as follows:

Departs Nadi at 2:00pm
Arrives Yasawa at 2:30pm

Departs Yasawa at 2:50pm
Arrives Nadi at 3:20pm

Please note that all of our flights are operated by third-party providers and flight times may change due to weather conditions or aircraft changes. If these times do not suit your travel schedule, please enquire about private transfer options at the time of booking.

No need to worry! Our Reservations Team is on it. Whether changes in flight times are caused by bad weather or other reasons, we have other options available to you, including boat and helicopter transfers. Please note these might come with additional charges.

Due to our remote location, tropical climate, third party transport providers, etc., travel disruptions are occasionally unavoidable. Yasawa Island Resort & Spa strongly recommends all guests purchase comprehensive travel insurance to cover any unforeseen interruptions to your holiday.

Please note that our third-party domestic airlines in Fiji have strict weight limit restrictions for each aircraft they use to service Yasawa Island. You are limited to 23kg of luggage per person combined for both checked and carry-on luggage. If your luggage is overweight, the airline reserves the right to charge you excess luggage fees. In the event of overweight bags, the airline may offload your luggage to be delivered on a different flight/day and/or you may be required to send some of your luggage back to Nadi prior to your departure from the island. If you have excess luggage that you do not need for your stay at Yasawa, and that you would like to store at our Nadi airport office, please contact us.

Due to the size and safety ratings of the seating on the planes and helicopters, airline providers require guests over 114kg (250lbs) to purchase an additional seat, at a cost of FJD$690 one-way. Please advise if this is the case at the time of confirmation, so we can make arrangements with the airline. This must be done prior to the check-in for your flight. Failure to notify us in advance may cause you to be restricted from boarding the flight, and delay your arrival to Yasawa.

Fijian hospitality is famous for a reason and it is intertwined in our DNA. Our staff do not care for you in hopes of receiving something in exchange; they do it from their heart. Fijian culture is also very communal and everything is shared. Therefore, we request that you respect this and do not tip staff individually

If you have enjoyed your Yasawa experience and the beautiful service you have received, we ask you to leave a donation to the Staff Christmas Fund. This fund is saved for the calendar year and distributed evenly between our front and back of-house staff equally just before Christmas. Our staff use their tip fund money to bring family home for Christmas and to pay school fees at the start of the new school year in January.

Dining on Fiji

We are more than happy to accommodate for most allergy or dietary needs you might have. As we are on a remote island in a developing country, please let us know at the time of booking so we can have alternative options prepared & ready for you upon arrival! Vegetarian, gluten-sensitive, and vegan options are always available at the resort. As we have a single kitchen for all resort guests, please ensure you advise us of any serious or anaphylactic allergies you have in advance of your arrival.

All meals, soft drinks, teas, coffees, and bottled juices are included in your stay. This includes our unique dining options as well, like beach picnics, traditional feasts, and cooking demos. If you’re looking for something stronger, we do have an impressively stocked bar, as well as great beer & wine options available to you! These can be billed to your room to make enjoying easy & care-free. There is an additional fee for room service delivery.

No need to pre-book your picnic! Upon arriving on the island, you’ll choose from one of our 11 gorgeous beaches dotted around the island for your private picnic experience. Then you can personalize your picnic as you select your bespoke lunch from our delicious menu that changes with the seasons. Options to add champagne, beer, or other drinks of your choice are always available. On the day of your picnic, our staff will deliver you by boat to the beach, help set up your picnic, and leave you in solitude until your pre-arranged pick-up time.

Activities on Yasawa

All of our scheduled activities (except SCUBA diving, fishing, and spa treatments) are included in your stay at Yasawa. Scheduled activities include: twice weekly caves visit, twice weekly snorkelling trip by boat, village visits, cooking demonstrations, guided walks, cultural demonstrations, church visit, and weekly Managers’ cocktail party.

The standard paid activities at Yasawa are SCUBA diving, fishing, and spa treatments. If you would like to do an activity privately or at a time other than our scheduled activities, we will do everything we can to accommodate your special request, for an added charge.

As we continue to develop authentic experiences for our guests to enjoy, there may be small charges applied for fees owed to the village or landowners. For example, our scheduled half-day visit to the Blue Lagoon Caves is included in your stay, but the entrance fee of $35FJD/person is not included and can be charged to your room account.

For those wanting to try scuba diving for the first time, the resort offers complimentary PADI Discover Scuba Diving pool sessions and PADI Open Water Certification courses.

We try very hard to honour and maintain the authentic culture of Yasawa. As part of this philosophy, we respect the local Chief’s Sunday Rule and do not operate any activities on a Sunday. Guests are more than welcome to snorkel off the beach, take out a paddle board, play tennis, go to church in the village, or simply relax.

All of our scheduled activities do operate year-round. In the event of inclement weather, some activities may be postponed for safety reasons. We will always do our best to reschedule these as soon as possible. On rare occasions, special events in the village might prevent us from partaking in village activities.

There is no need to pre-book activities. All activities, whether included in your package or added to your stay, can be booked when you arrive at the resort.

Spa Services

You are more than welcome to book your spa reservations one day in advance when you arrive on island. This allows all guests to have a fair chance to book their treatments without certain times or locations being booked out all week by a single guest.
Yes! There’s no better way to relax with your partner than a couples massage. You can book your reservations at our spa one day in advance. If you’d like to book your couples massage in your bure, let us know and we will do our best to accommodate, though extra charges may apply.

Your marriage in Fiji is recognised legally worldwide. You do not have to get married again in your home country to make it official.

After your wedding ceremony, your official marriage certificate will be provided to you as a record of being married and this carries the same legal status as any other marriage worldwide.

In order to get married, certified copies of the following documents will need to be provided in advance to a Births, Deaths & Marriage office in Fiji. We suggest doing this at least 2 months in advance in order to ensure there is no rush at the last minute to get your licence.

What you’ll need for both of you:
1. Birth Certificates
2. Passports with valid legal status
3. If applicable, Divorce Certificates
4. If a previous spouse is deceased, a Death Certificate
5. A Certificate of Single status or Certificate of No Legal Impediment (see further notes on this below)
6. Passport photos

Once you have these documents in order, our staff can assist you in applying for a marriage licence.
