Independently owned Fiji island resort
Discover the essence of Yasawa Island.
Welcome
bula
Tucked away, far from the beaten path of mass tourism, our resort sits peacefully as the only commercial development on a 22-kilometre long island, abundant in natural beauty & rich in local traditions.
Our hope is to be more than just a destination, but rather to build a legacy known for transformative cultural experiences & restorative stays that nourish your soul.

Our Shared Legacy
Centuries before our villas were built, the Fijian people called this island home. We know how deeply privileged we are to share Yasawa with its traditional landowners.
Fijian culture is not only celebrated but profoundly respected, and with more than 80% of our staff proudly from our local villages, we’re uniquely fortunate to be able to share the unaltered, authentic soul of Fiji with our guests.
We take great pride in the relationship and legacy we’ve built with the people of Yasawa. This connection is at the heart of our mission – it’s what makes us who we are.

Slow Philosophy
Our goal is to intentionally help you unplug from the outside world and your busy life.
We unapologetically have no TVs or Wi-Fi in our Bures. (Don’t panic though, you’ll still find Wi-Fi in our common areas to check in or share photos!). We encourage you to step into slower-paced days. Immerse yourself in barefoot luxury and island time. Share in the stories, traditions, and ceremonies of Yasawa.
As sun-drenched days pass, the stress you arrive with will fade away. You’ll depart feeling reconnected to the ones you love, nourished by the heart of our Yasawa Family, and reenergized by your time in our little slice of paradise.

Your Yasawa Family
The resort belongs to all of us, as does its legacy.
It’s that same sense of social responsibility Erin and James, our longstanding owners, aim to infuse into every stay. Their hearts have long since been with the island, its community, and the resort itself, as Erin has called Yasawa home since the 90s as the General Manager.
Since taking ownership in 2010, it’s been their passion to preserve the true essence of Yasawa. To remain independently owned, to hire locally whenever possible, to encourage guests to truly discover what it means to unwind & recharge, and to put Fijian culture at the heart of every stay.
You’ll come to us full of wanderlust and discovery, but you’ll leave knowing Yasawa is your new home away from home.
The heart of Yasawa
Discovery

Yasawa is boundless in beauty. Sink deep into its nature, be captivated by the unrivalled storytelling of Fijian culture, and unlock the deepest sense of relaxation as you soak in your surroundings. There is so much to discover and we’re here to help you immerse yourself into every bit of what makes this island the most enchanting place you’ll find.
Sustainability

Yasawa is more than just a destination—it’s our home. Our resort is what it is because of the resources, people, and traditions indigenous to the island. As long as Yasawa sits nestled among the palms, we will proudly seize every opportunity to ensure our resort lives in harmony with the local communities and the natural environment that embraces us. As part of our commitment to our current and future landowners, our incredible guests and the island itself, we are working towards Earth Check accreditation in 2025/2026. Check back with us regularly, as we keep you updated on all of the steps of our progress.
Relaxation

Our guests often tell us they’ve never felt as rested and relaxed as they do at Yasawa. Leave behind the traffic, work deadlines, and the daily grind, and instead, embrace the tranquility of slower days. Immerse yourself in thoughtfully curated activities, nourishing meals, the warmth of Fijian laughter, private beach picnics, hammock naps, and dinners under the stars. Every detail of your stay has been carefully crafted to make peace and restoration come naturally.
“I only hope that when I’m walking the streets of California, I get the constant Bula’s and welcoming gestures like what I received in Fiji.”
“We stayed at Yasawa in a Deluxe Beachfront Bure (#7) for four days in late October. Did a lot of research and wanted a remote experience, all inclusive and where we could appreciate the true Fiji culture. We were celebrating our 25th wedding anniversary and it was our first trip to Fiji.
First and most important observation was the people. They made sure we walked away with how life is to be measured – with happiness, smiles, singing and the simple things to appreciate. They knew our names by day 2, they wanted to know what we were all about without being intrusive and they treated us like family.
Arriving at Yasawa with the entire staff singing your welcome really set the tone. Leaving with song encouraged our return in the future. With the beautiful sunsets, the amazing water quality and the beautiful grounds, we had a very memorable 25th [Anniversary]. However, what made this trip a 10 was the people. You have taught me an important lesson – to smile and say hello – TO EVERYONE! Bula and Vinaka.”
The beaches are unbelievable beautiful but it’s the people that make this place special.
Personalised and engaging service from initial point of contact was first class and the 5 nights on Yasawa were wonderful.
We selected this Island for an authentic Fijian experience. There are many newer resorts but this is a boutique, traditional high end resort that has 27 years of experience and caters for couples who are looking to escape the fast lane, lie low, recharge and restore the soul. We’ve been to Fiji many times but first visit to Yasawa’s and the beaches here are wonderful, the snorkeling the best I have encountered. Smelgi….thanks for all the adventures out on the boats, loved the caves!!! The massages and spa treatments are fantastic, highly recommend the package they offer. Aggie, thank you!! To Manasa, Claire and all the staff thank you so much for an incredibly special time in your island paradise. We will be back!! — Lucy, Australia
I hope you will just go. Just go because it’s that good. It’s that great.
“Fiji was on my bucket list for 25 years! I found Yasawa Island Resort and Spa in the Costco Travel brochure. When I read “unlimited daily picnics on a private beach,” I was almost sold. But it was my research on the resort and the reviews that solidified my choice. With 25 years of expectations, there was a lot to live up to. Imagine my delight when the entire trip exceeded my best dreams.
The staff, every single staff member, was simply the best in every single way. They all were smiling and friendly, greeting me with a bright, “Bula!” (hello) and always saying “Vinaka!” (thank you). They whistled and sang and laughed all the time. And they were just nice. Like, really, really nice. They greeted me by name all the time, stopping to introduce themselves and ask how I was doing, where was I from. I loved it, and I loved meeting every single person I saw.”
