Dining at Yasawa
Flavours from the land and sea
Sharing the richness of Fijian culture, one bite at a time.
Yasawa’s local communities have a ceremonious connection to the land and sea. Fishing and agriculture are deeply rooted in everyday life. Events and celebrations are centred around feasts. The sharing of food is a symbol of generosity, hospitality, and respect.
So you can imagine that our executive chef and local kitchen staff take your dining experience to heart!
Our village fishermen deliver freshly caught seafood daily. All ingredients on our menus are fresh, locally and ethically sourced. And every gourmet meal, afternoon snack, or refreshing beverage is prepared with tremendous amounts of passion and care – from the land to your table.

for the foodies
We asked for a private dinner on the beach one evening and the staff were happy to accommodate us.
“Our 6-night visit at Yasawa Island Resort & Spa was spectacular. If you are looking to completely unplug, unwind, and disconnect from the rest of the world, this is the space for you.
Dining was also exceptional with usually 2-3 main dishes to choose from at each meal, along with an all-day dining menu in case you need a snack after a morning of snorkeling or an afternoon of just lounging in your private beach-side bure. The menu often included a traditional Fijian dish, sometimes with a modern twist, which was always great to try. You can almost always expect a seafood option on the menu, too. We were also happy to see a number of fun “mocktails” on the drink menu. As travelers who don’t often drink, these were a fun addition to the menu and made us feel included.”
This is Fiji where you relax and let go, settling into the islander laid back pace.
“Service was always delivered with a smile. The staff were so, so lovely. Whenever we asked for something for the room, it was there within a short time frame.
The beach picnics are something that few other resorts can compete with. We were delivered to remote, private beach locations with thatched shelters, complete with picnic basket & esky with the lunch and drinks we had selected the evening before. The trip by boat was exhilarating.
Every morning, we opened up the windows & doors so that we could enjoy our morning cuppa gazing at the beach, listening to the soft roll of the surf. Just stunning!”
